It protects biological membranes including those found in the cardiovascular system, nerves and muscles. Vitamin E helps the body effectively use and store vitamin A and protects B-complex and vitamin C from oxidation reactions. It is a vasodilator and plays an important role in intermittent claudication, thrombotic disease, immune function, protection of lipoproteins from oxidation, cardiovascular disease prevention, cancer prevention, and helps protect against environmental pollutants and cigarette smoke.
